UK’s New Route 57 Road Trip

As an avid road tripper, I’ve had some wonderful experiences over the past 6 years with various road trips across North America, and even a few international trips along the way.

If you’re a road tripper, or even an aspiring road tripper, you’re probably familiar with America’s iconic Route 66. I’ve had the pleasure of road tripping Route 66 several times, and have had some wonderful adventures along this route.

In a bid to rival America’s famous Route 66, Jurys Inn Hotels have created their own alternative to Route 66 in the UK and Ireland, called Route 57.

Route 57 passes through England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland with 57 must-see destinations along the way. It even has similar mileage and driving-time to Route 66.

Route 57 is actually a compilation of 10 shorter road trip routes, combined into 1 massive road trip route, which takes 5-8 weeks to complete. Or if you road trip like we do, it could take anywhere from 1-2 weeks, but to be honest, with destinations like England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, I would definitely take my time on this road trip route.

To give you a bit of an overview of my Route 66 road trip experiences, I’ve never fully road tripped Route 66 from start to finish, as it’s always worked out that we’ve included sections of Route 66 in our road trips. So in full, I’ve road tripped Route 66 twice, but it took several different road trips to complete this route. With that being said, I’m thrilled to see the new Route 57 in the UK and Ireland be broken down into sections, allowing people like myself the ability to road trip the different sections at my leisure.

You can find an interactive map of this route here.

We’re hoping to get the road trip crew over to the UK within the next 5 years, and are definitely looking forward to checking out Route 57 while in the country.
