Year in Review: Our Best Road Trips of 2014

This has been such an amazing year for road trip adventures! I have some great friends that are more than willing to cram into a little car with me and travel miles and miles in such a short period of time just to capture funny signs and experience unreal adventures across North America.

This year we road tripped through 6 provinces and 34 states.

2014 also marks a great road trip milestone for me. I’ve officially road tripped through 48 states and 10 provinces. My new road trip goal for 2015 is to eventually make it up to Alaska, thus also crossing off the Yukon and hopefully the North West Territories from my road trip bucket list. I’d also like to make it over to Hawaii sometime this coming year. It’s good to have road trip goals to work towards.

Here’s a timeline of some of our awesome road trip adventures of 2014:

- We spent my 30th birthday, and St Patrick’s Day in Portland, Oregon - Beer, Hiking and Tacos: Our Road Trip to Portland

- Over the summer, we conquered a huge road trip through 6 provinces and 34 states in just under 3 weeks. Newfoundland and New Orleans were our favourite places from this road trip. Here's an overview of our summer road trip adventure.

After our huge summer road trip, we spent the rest of the summer and most of the fall locally, exploring parts of the west coast. I finally made it to the Oneonta Gorge in Oregon. This is a beautiful “day hike” through a creek that leads to a waterfall.

We also spent most of our summer in Whistler, hiking the local mountains.
Wedgemount Lake, Whistler, Canada - glacier water

We ended off our year strong with a short trip to Las Vegas before heading over to Thailand for 2 weeks of exploring!

In 2015, we plan to road trip Alaska and hopefully make our way over to Iceland to road trip the ring road.
