Rick Mercer Takes on Mount Nimbus via ferrata

In one of our previous blog posts, we mentioned how we did a 26 hour road trip to Alberta to trek on the Athabaska glacier. As a somewhat avid thrill seekers, hikers, and frequent road tripper, I think I've found the ultimate thrill seeking adventure; the Mount Nimbus via ferrata.

I've only just come across this video on YouTube after learning that Rick Mercer hiked the Mount Nimbus via ferrata a few months back. Rick is quite the funny guy, so it was great fun to watch his expression while hiking this amazing mountain.

After receiving an email challenging Rick Mercer to make it to the top, Rick said he came out because the Mount Nimbus via ferrata was "the scariest thing I've seen on the internet." I guess Rick doesn't spend much time on YouTube.

If you've read our recent blog post about hiking Angels Landing in Zion National Park, you will know we are no strangers to hanging on edges of cliffs while hiking, but we've never experienced a hike like this before. In comparison to Angels Landing, I'm happy to see that you're actually safety harnessed to Mount Nimbus throughout the entire trek up the mountain (unlike Angles Landing where it's up to you to hang on). This trek definitely makes it to the top of our bucket list of things to accomplish in the near future! What's even better is that this mountain is located in British Columbia!

Watch Rick's witty charm in this video while he discusses his trek up the Mount Nimbus via ferrata.

As always, please do leave your comment below. We'd love to hear if you've hiked Mount Nimbus via ferrata before? Or have future travel plans to do so.
